We’re super excited to announce a brand new version of Tandem Web, our desktop-friendly browser app.
Tandem Web makes it easier for people who are more comfortable using computers, laptops, and other larger devices, to find new language partners, send them messages, and help each other learn.
With our latest update, we’ve introduced a whole host of new features, greatly improved performance, and implemented a sleek new design. Learning languages on desktop is now as seamless, accessible and fun as on mobile!

New features
We don’t think anyone should have to compromise on their language learning journey. That’s why we’ve given Tandem Web a big face lift when it comes to offering the same features as our mobile app.
Here are some of the new additions:
Full chat capability 💬
No more copy-pasting into a different browser tab to translate something your conversation partner sent you! Our new Tandem Web chat comes with an in-built translation feature - as well as the ability to correct your partner and be corrected yourself. Woop woop! 🎉
Travel around 🌍
Finding new language partners has never been easier. Navigate to our new “Travel” section and continue your search for language learners on a world map. The sky is the limit!
Filters 🔎
Keep those chats nice and organized — and find the people you’re looking for quicker. Our new filters will help you toggle between all messages, unread messages and messages where it’s your turn to reply.
Pro features ⭐️
Tandem Web now comes fully equipped with all of our most popular Tandem Pro features. See who visited your profile, enjoy unlimited translations and browse through Tandem members near you — all at the click of your mouse. 🐭
Core improvements
Alongside those new features, we’re also proud to reveal a bunch of key improvements to the core functionality of Tandem Web.
→ Log in with Apple
You requested - and we listened! You can now access Tandem Web by logging in with your Apple ID.
→ Better notifications
Notifications are now more reliable and more visible than ever before - so you never have to miss another message. (Don’t worry, you can still turn them off if you want!)
→ Brand new designs
For all the artists out there — we’ve got out our digital canvas and painted something we really, really like. We hope you do too! 🎨
Please note that the new version of Tandem Web does not support calling. To connect with your language partners over video or audio calls please use the mobile app. 📲
