English B2 Level Certificate

B2 is the independent level in language learning. At this point, the person is more confident in their English language ability. A B2 level in English would allow the person to live and work independently in an English-speaking country. The person can communicate spontaneously and in a clear and detailed manner, however, some subtleties or implied meanings in conversation can be missed.

Students require about 600 hours of instruction to reach B2 from a complete beginner level.

According to the CEFR guidelines, a language learner at the B2 level:

• Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
• Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
• Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
